LED Lighting: Brighter Futures For East Midlands Schools

If you’re the Building Services Manager of an East Midlands school, check this out for a lightbulb moment: Switch your classrooms over to LED lighting and not only will you reap huge savings on energy, but you may be able to receive significant grant assistance to help you make the switch. No pun intended!

Like all organisations throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire with significant lighting demands, schools are at the mercy of energy hikes, and the energy market doesn’t seem as though prices will stabilise or fall any time soon. Therefore, taking a good look at the advantages of LED lighting in conjunction with financial assistance is an opportunity worthy of consideration.

LED Efficiency in Classrooms

The most attractive advantage of LED lighting is energy efficiency. When we consider the light emitted per unit of power consumed by the bulb, LED lights bring a circa 60-70 per cent improvement over traditional incandescent light bulbs. Of course, if we consider well-lit and multiple classrooms throughout multiple buildings, the savings to your school could be huge.

LED Lighting for an Improved Learning Environment

LED lighting provides an enhanced learning environment for better learning outcomes. LEDs have a great colour rendering index (CRI), meaning great clarity. Also, LEDs generate directional light emissions. They emit light for only 180 degrees, reducing glare and removing the need for devices to reflect or redirect light.

LEDs provide instant light when turned on, operate on a low voltage and are able to operate on a dimming capability.

LEDs For Improved Safety

LEDs emit almost zero forward heat, whereas traditional incandescent bulbs convert around 90 per cent of their energy to heat.

They are also safer for the environment, not just due to their energy efficiency. Unlike fluorescent mercury vapour lights, LEDs contain no hazardous mercury. Also, LEDs produce virtually no UV emissions.

East Midlands LED Experts

Stator Electrical Solutions has been helping schools as far and wide as Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield and Chesterfield to change over to LED lighting for a number of years. We can help state-funded schools to apply for circa 60 per cent subsidy in switching over too. All of our engineers undergo regular training, and for extra peace of mind, they also undergo regular police & DBS checks.

If your school is within the East Midlands area, there’s a Stator Engineer close by and ready to visit your school. In no time at all, they’ll provide you with all of the information and options you require to light the way for more efficient, brighter futures. Click here to get in touch!
