Back to topAn EICR or Electrical installation condition report is an extensive inspection of a property's electrical systems. Features such as lighting, switches, plug sockets and the fuse board or consumer unit are thoroughly assessed. Additional electrical features such as EV chargers, solar panels and heated flooring will also form part of the inspection. The purpose of the inspection is to identify any faults or hazards which could be potentially dangerous, with risk of electrocution or electric fires.
An EICR can only be conducted by a qualified electrician such as Stator Electrical Solutions. We have the right credentials, skill and experience when it comes to carrying out electrical inspections at various properties and commercial businesses premises.
We are proud of the clients we work with, from landlords, letting agents and building managers. Many of our clients take the responsibility of an EICR very seriously and do ensure an EICR is conducted every 5 years as stated by UK law.
The process of an EICR involves a few stages, initially we conduct a visual inspection and identify any possible signs of electrical faults or damage caused by wear and tear. Like most installations, even electrical systems such as wiring do deteriorate over time.
We then run a number of tests or dead testing, this is carried out once the mains power is disconnected. Our experienced electricians then look for faults within circuits, insulation resistance and connectivity.
The next stage is referred to as live testing, we turn the mains power back on and check the functionality of devices such as circuit breakers and RCDs. These components play a key role in protecting you during a sudden power surge.
Any faults we do identify are assigned a classification code according to how severe the fault is.
Upon completing the inspection, we create a detailed EICR report which highlights the faults identified and suggestions for remedial work.
A copy should be kept on site and provided to tenants if the premises is a rental property.
Any remedial work should be completed within a 28 day period.
If you’ve already had an EICR inspection and gained an unsatisfactory result, Stator Electrical Solutions are more than competent taking on any remedial work or carrying out repair work to ensure you do gain a satisfactory result upon inspection.
EICRs are key documentation stating the safety of the premises, especially in rental properties or commercial spaces where there are many occupants such as employees or customers.
As fully qualified NICEIC approved contractors, all installation, inspection work and remedial work are in inline with uk industry regulations. We take electrical safety very seriously and always put safety at the forefront.
